Is it a requirement to use PointeWare solutions or services when purchasing the scanner?

No. PointeWare provides the interface to the bar code scanner as part of your purchase. The API needs to be added to your J2ME application library. However, we hope you will give us the opportunity to address your mobile and web application requirements.

How does the scanner attach to the i355/i365?

The BC300 clips on to the bottom of the phone and utilizes the phones body for support, providing a snug and solid fit. 

How durable is the BC300?

The BC300 is constructed with thick and ribbed walls for structural support and molded with durable ABS. 

What types of Symbologies does the BC300 support?

UPC/EAN/JAN, Code 39, Code 93, Code 128, Interleaved 2 of 5, Discrete 2 of 5, Codabar, and MSI Plessey. 

Can the phone be charged without detaching the scanner?

There is a charging port just below the scan window on the bottom of the BC300, which works with the Motorola charger provided with the i355/i365. 

Do you have to buy a different battery or phone charger?

No. The BC300 utilizes the same charger and battery that is shipped with the i355/i365. 

How many scans before the before the battery needs charging?

Scan hundreds of bar codes with one charge. Keep in mind the phone battery charge is dependent on phone and data communication.
